In my early 20s, I really didn’t know what I wanted to do for a long time

I was at university when I found out about Biomedical Scientists and what they do, so I think I would have been 18/19

When I was 25 so a few years ago. I knew I wanted to stay working in the field of psychology, but wasn’t sure if I wanted to be a clinical psychologist (provide therapy to patients in the NHS), become a medical doctor (which would mean doing another degree in medicine – 4-6 years of more studying and student loan debt) or complete a PhD. I feel like I would have enjoyed each career in its own way. I decided to complete a PhD because I knew I’d enjoy doing the research and the opportunity came my way.
