When I was 25 so a few years ago. I knew I wanted to stay working in the field of psychology, but wasn’t sure if I wanted to be a clinical psychologist (provide therapy to patients in the NHS), become a medical doctor (which would mean doing another degree in medicine – 4-6 years of more studying and student loan debt) or complete a PhD. I feel like I would have enjoyed each career in its own way. I decided to complete a PhD because I knew I’d enjoy doing the research and the opportunity came my way.
To be honest you are constantly deciding on your career. Obviously, there is decisions that will shape much more what you will be doing in the future (like when you pick your uni subjects) but eventually, you can reshape your career at any point.
