Well calculations suggest the world will be knocked out of the solar system when the sun turns into a black dwarf in about 100 trillion years (possibly much longer) (that’s 1000000000000 years) – that’s if it survives the sun becoming a red giant in about 7 billion years (when surface temperatures on the earth will be over 2000 degrees!) – however, in about a billion years (1000000000 years) all water on the planet will likely have evaporated due to the suns continuing warming and that spells the absolute end of life on earth – if it gets even that far!

so the fate of our planet is tied to the fate of the sun, which formed about 5 billion years ago and isn’t even halfway through its hydrogen (which is what stars burn initially) when those stores are gone it will become a red giant and become about 200 times bigger!)
